Will a Magwell Fit My Glock? Compatibility Guide (Gen 1–5)

Posted by TACBRO on

"Will this fit my Glock?" is the number one question we get about magwells — and it's a fair one, because Glock has made a lot of variations over the years. Here's the complete answer.

Which Glocks It Fits

Our flared magwell fits the following:
Compact frames (Gen 1–4): Glock 19, 23, 32, 38
Full-size frames (Gen 1–4): Glock 17, 17L, 22, 24, 31, 34, 35, 37
Polymer80 builds: PF940C and PF940V2
If your pistol is on this list, you're good to go.

What About Gen 5?

Gen 5 Glocks have a redesigned frame — including the factory-flared magwell cut on some models — so this magwell is not compatible with Gen 5 frames. If you own a Gen 5, look for a magwell designed specifically for it.

A Note on 10-Round Magazines

This one matters especially for shooters in restricted states: 10-round limited magazines (including California-compliant magazines) do not work with a flared magwell. The limited magazines' baseplates are too short to seat fully once the funnel is installed. If you run 10-rounders, a magwell isn't the right upgrade for those magazines.

Gen 4 Backstraps

If you use the interchangeable backstraps on a Gen 4 frame, you may need minor fitting for the magwell to sit flush. It's a small job — but worth knowing before you start.

How to Double-Check Before You Buy

  1. Confirm your model number (it's stamped on the slide).
  2. Confirm your generation — Gen 5 says "Gen 5" on the slide; anything older is Gen 1–4.
  3. Check your magazines: standard-capacity works; 10-round limited does not.

Still unsure? Send us your model and generation and we'll give you a straight yes or no before you order.
